Official Community Hub Launch

We were delighted to officially launch our Community Hub last month.

The space houses our cooking classes, training initiative, meeting spaces for hire and a welcome space to drop in, have a cuppa and receive advice and information about the other services that we offer.

The event was very well attended, with speeches written by the Lord Provost, and from our Chair of the Board, Gary Cameron, and Managing Director, Biddy Kelly.

Special thanks to Scran Academy for keeping our tummies full with delicious chilli, our brilliant little ribbon cutter, Bobby, and to Ama-zing Harmonies for a beautiful rendition of Lean On Me, which felt very fitting to the occasion.

Hit Squads Transforming Homes!

The Hit Squad painting and decorating team and volunteers have been very busy lately transforming client's new houses into homes. This lovely transformation picture took place recently, with the client picking their own colours to match their home and getting involved in the entire process.

I'm sure you'll agree with us that their living room is looking lovely!

Cooking in the Hub

Our cooking classes have been in full swing in the Hub, with various different courses running from beginner to advanced and also the introduction of Family Fridays.  The groups have cooked a great range of dishes from pizza, to chicken friccase, to milk puddings and have been enjoyed by all!

We love receiving all your donations, but there are still some items that we need to buy for our much needed starter packs, such as toiletries and cleaning products.  If you are able to pop an extra shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste or deodorant in your basket next time you're shopping to donate to Fresh Start, it would be much appreciated and make our funds go a little further!
