The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all

I will exalt you, 0 Lord, because you have lifted me up and have not let my enemies triumph over me.

O Lord my God, I cried out to you, and you restored me to health.

You brought me up, 0 Lord, from the dead; and you restored my life as I was going down to the grave.

Sing to the Lord, you faithful servants; give thanks for the remembrance of God's holiness.

For God's anger lasts but the twinkling of an eye, God's favour endures for a lifetime.

Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

While I felt secure, I said, 'I shall never be disturbed. You, Lord, with your favour, made me as strong as the mountains.'

Then you hid your face, and I was filled with fear.

I cried to you, 0 Lord; I pleaded with the Lord, saying,

'What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you or declare your faithfulness?

Hear, 0 Lord, and have mercy upon me; O Lord, be my helper'.

You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.

Therefore my heart sings to you without ceasing; O Lord my God, I will give thanks for ever.

Eternal God, you call us to ventures

of which we cannot see the ending,

by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown.

Give us faith to go out with courage,

not knowing where we go,

but only that your hand is leading us

and your love supporting us;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

SERMON                                        Reverend Tom Cuthell

HYMN 153                                                    Faithfulness

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father,

there is no shadow of turning with thee;

thou changest not, thy compassions they fail not,

as thou hast been thou for ever wilt be.

Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!

Morning by morning new mercies I see;

all I have needed thy hand hath provided -

great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

Summer and winter, and seed-time and harvest,

sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,

join with all nature in manifold witness

to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,

thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;

strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,

blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.

The Lord be with you

And also with you

Go now in the peace of Christ our Lord

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ

the love of God

and the communion of the Holy Spirit

be with us all
